Angie
McNee is a talented young artist and a writer, who has been
living and working in Italy
for the last ten years; to which she has become affectionately
attached " for its history and for its sunsets".
In
a time of digital and disposable everything, Angie's creations,
entitled La Sagra-the festival, are original and totally hand made
to order gifts; for friendship and healing.
In her work, Angie incorporates her love of crystals, scented herbs
and flowers making La Sagra a colourful collection of greeting cards
and jewellery, indeed a festival of healing. She has recently developed
cards which invoke peace - see her Peace
Cards.
Writing
In
addition to creating jewellery and cards Angie also writes, her
article on the Venice Carnival
is on this Site and another article on the Marino
Wine festival can be found is in PS
Magazine.
"Once
the wine is flowing and there seem to be grapes everywhere, there
is a procession through the streets, up the hill, around the fountains
and through both main squares at the top and bottom of the hill."
"La
Sagra" means the festival in Italian. In Italy they have
a Sagra for almost every new season for fruit, vegetable, and of
course wine.
They are wonderful events happening in little towns, and all the
locals set up stalls in the square... there is music, dancing, and
lots of foods and wines to try, usually very cheaply, and a lot
of the time, free!"
It
is here that Angie creates her work.
Angie
creates greetings cards and jewellery, for all occasions, incorporating
her love of crystals, colours, scented herbs and flowers. Through
her work, she says that "I hope to send out healing as well
as warm wishes from my clients."
Gifts
are made to order. Just tell Angie a little about your intended
recipient, and leave the design up to her. She will then send the
card in protective wrapping by priority post, so your own greetings
can be added.
