Mindful Life Style : Inspired Living

Reclaiming Our Life-force, by Helen Lees
By Helen Lees

The founder of The Meditation School, teaches meditation on a one-to-one basis and is a qualified healer, counsellor and Bach Flower Practitioner. I came to know about Helen through Tony Neate.

In Shamanic practices the moment from conception through to birth is said to be of profound significance in our life. It is the moment we enter into the energy field of our physical mother and father, and until we develop sufficiently to discriminate between self and other, will experience the joint energy as our own.

The challenges chosen by the spirit before incarnation and which resonate with the energy of the parents remain within the subtle bodies but often the energies of the incoming spirit and the parents become enmeshed, to the extent that even later in life we do not know whose thought energy we are responding to; that of our parents or that of our own spirit.

This subtle influence can continue for many years at sub-conscious and unconscious levels and can result in ill health and a lack of fulfilment. And as long as this dynamic continues our life force may be continually drained and our creative potential compromised in an extreme way.

In order to find a sense of wholeness and harmony within ourselves, where the subtle bodies interact rhythmically with each other we need to have our life force fully at our disposal. This means being able to recognise vulnerable areas within our psyche, which we have chosen at a deep spiritual level, to address in this lifetime. And life will continually show us what these areas are.

Every single person that manifests in our life, however fleetingly, is a refection of energy within our own psyche. At the deepest level we are all one another, just as the Buddhist monk wrote: I am the twelve-year-old girl. I am the man who raped her etc. Everyone we meet is a manifestation of out own thought energy whether we like it or not.

But we cannot integrate energies that do not belong to us, the vulnerabilities that our parents have chosen to address can only be integrated by them, and if we remain enmeshed we will find ourselves being drawn into their shadow and even the collective shadow, with dire consequences for ourselves.

The journey towards wholeness involves experiencing and integrating our own shadow; our fear, anger pain etc. with the guiding love energy of the higher Self to support us. Myths, ancient and modern, speak of those who become lost in dark lands - the inner world is no different or less dangerous, we can become lost in the energy of another and find ourselves going round in circles, attracting more and more shadow towards us.

The following is a meditative exercise:

It may need to be carried out several times, the effects of which I found profound and cleared an ongoing health problem almost overnight. I would suggest working with parents first and then as parents ourselves, repeating the exercise with children and suggest that they do the same with us.

Aborted and miscarried foetus may be treated in the same way by addressing these spirits who connected with us, albeit briefly.

Centre yourself within your own divine love energy and then:

·        Go back in time to before incarnation, where as spirit you were given advice about this life-time. Sense, feel and experience how you were as spirit…what qualities are you aware of?

·        Allow yourself to move forward to the moment of conception when the resonance of your energy harmonised with the energy of ‘your parents’.

·        Notice what you experienced.

·        Move forward again to the moment of birth and notice what you experienced.

·        Go forward through your life up to the present moment, like cream flowing from a jug.

·        Bring your parents into your mind and say 3 times, firstly to your mother and then your father, I call my life force back to me now.

·        Notice what you feel, sense and experience. (In my experience the energy of your spirit that you call back will go to the most vulnerable place in you, strengthening and re-balancing your whole energetic system – even healing deep auric scars that have resulted in illness.)

·        Then thinking about each parent in turn say 3 times, I hand your life force back to you.

·        Thank your parents and with a thought of love, saying to the highest aspect of each in turn, I love you, I bless you. Allow them to dissolve in your mind.

·        Ground yourself well and be aware of the harmony and rhythm within your whole being.
