A frequently asked question in psychic circles - and there are those who say it is and those who say it isn't! The latter will argue that if you believe in God, he (he/she?) will protect you. I am one of those who believe that it is necessary. Why?

Because I believe that we have the responsibility for running our lives, not God! When I cross a busy road, I look both ways before crossing - it's no good closing my eyes and saying God will protect me, otherwise I end up as another accident statistic at the local hospital.

Let's start at the beginning. Most of us would agree that there is a level of Ultimate Consciousness that we call God, and that God creates new thoughts or spirits that go out into the Universe to experience. Being a God of unconditional Love, we are given the gift of choice - the freewill to make our own choices and decisions.

In this way, we begin to evolve, growing in consciousness and understanding. At one point on our evolutionary path, we are ready for physical life (on this planet as homo sapiens, or in the animal, vegetable, mineral kingdoms, etc).

Physical life presents us with the opportunity to express our feelings and emotions in a physical way. We exercise our freewill and choice by first of all, choosing our parents - not for what they are, but for the challenges that they present us.

In any one life, we bring with us the sum total of all our past experiences, both in and out of the physical body. We even have the choice to accept or reject the Godhead that originally created us.

God does not force us to be anything, allowing us to choose whatever decisions and actions we make. It is a God of Love, not a God of revenge, retribution and hatred. So, you see, we have the responsibility for the way in which we run our lives.

We each have the choice between life and death. So, if I am going to be in touch with the spirit world and all that it offers, it is my responsibility to protect myself. For the spirit world, like our own, also has Light and Shadow.

I have worked as a psychic for over 50 years and in that time have come across many situations where my own precautions have saved me from something very unpleasant.

School Of Channelling

Working with my wife Ann, we have rescued many psychics who have run into mega problems because they refuse to accept the responsibility of running their own lives.  In one case, a psychic who had been working for many years and did not believe psychic protection was necessary, was suddenly confronted with a negative spirit they had picked up from a client. This made them so depressed that they actually contemplated suicide. They felt that God had let them down.

On one level, it could almost be regarded as arrogance to assume that God has to protect us. Of course, part of our protective programme may well be to invoke the help of higher energies. But it is our responsibility to seek and use our own resources as well, if we are going to work on planes of energy and existence beyond our own.

Ann and I are both involved with the Spirit Release Foundation, an organisation started by a psychiatrist, which now involves members from different approaches and deals with stuck, lost and negative spirits, using both intuitional and interactive methods.

We have an education programme that teaches and enables therapists to deal with this increasing problem in a troubled world facing its own challenges as it enters the Age of Aquarius.
