The process of channelling, like all things in the universe, is somewhat paradoxical. On the one hand, channelling is a very simple process; on the other hand, however, many levels of understanding are required for it to be accurate and of the highest quality.
There are two basic approaches to working with one's Spirit Guides. First, you can be in contact with them daily for assistance on your personal path, and second, you can serve as a vehicle for Spirit to help others. It is quite likely, however, through the effort of working with your Guides daily that you will find yourself assisting others through whatever you do in life.
When an individual walks a higher path, separation between ones' spiritual reality and the work they do diminishes. You begin to experience the organic process that takes place when all the aspects of your life flow together as an interconnected whole. Working with your Guides becomes essential as the need for clarity and inspiration increases.
Contacting your Guides on a daily basis and keeping the "channel" of communication open to receive guidance is the most basic way to stay in touch with the guidance that is available. My recommendation is to make this effort a part of your everyday life. You will notice a vast difference between when you make contact, and when you don't. If you seek guidance and inspiration daily, life becomes far more effortless and inspired. Once you become accustomed to this presence in your life, it becomes invaluable to have it.
This is not about creating a dependency on the Guides. On the contrary, we are seeking a working relationship with Spirit. The vision of what you want to create in your life comes from within you. When you reach out to your Spirit Guides for assistance, they can make the process of manifesting your vision easier. Ultimately, the relationship between you and Spirit becomes a joyful one. To know that there is loving support in the universe that is aware of your specific needs is profoundly reassuring.
The Spirit Guides always make it clear that they are not and do not profess to be God. Although they are not all knowing, they have acquired great universal awareness on their own journeys. This distinction is essential to understand as you proceed. If you pray to God, (Goddess, Creator, and so forth), then continue to do so. Spirit Guides are conduits to the higher guidance, and the wisdom they impart ultimately comes from that same source you are praying to.
What most aspire to on their higher path is simply to fulfil their destiny. All humans seek fulfilment. The more conscious you are of this desire, the more profound your path can become. Spirit Guides are serving the Creator when they help you to become more fulfilled. Therefore, when they work with you, they are actually fulfilling the part of their destiny that is about serving the highest good. They do this with unconditional love.
