Coffee Cup Readings: Intuition or Skilful Interpretation?

Dear Sahar,
I am a 24 year old Bulgarian woman.
In 2002-2003 I spent some time in Damascus as my three university mates and I won a scholarship and got a chance to study there. Sometimes we'd feel pretty bored and this is how I decided to entertain the girls by reading their coffee cups in our living room at night.
I honestly thought this was all a big joke - I had had some experience with coffee reading before as one of my aunt's friends sort of predicted many important events in my life giving even very small details and everything DID come true...so I wasn't doubting that phenomenon but I wasn't sure if I had any talent at all, not to say that I was laughing at my silly attempts.
I saw some symbols though and I must have interpreted them write well because I told my friend her cousin was pregnant; her reply was "How do you know it is my cousin even if you can see a woman's silhouette? She has just had a baby and is not planning on a new one!" I was certain though so two weeks later my friend received an e-mail saying her cousin was indeed pregnant and everybody was shocked.
Later on I told a very nice young family they were going to separate and that was around Christmas 2002, a family celebration, us having fun and everybody asking me to read coffee cups believing I had a *gift* after the pregnancy guess. They didn't appreciate what I said but I thought the cup showed me them apart. A year later the husband admitted he had a girlfriend and moved out. Everybody, incl. the wife called to say they should have listened to me and to apologise for not having believed me.
Third example: a girl I didn't even know very well but who happened to be in the same company broke up with her boyfriend and even tried to commit suicide. She wanted me to tell her something about the future. I see a lot of symbols normally but I have no idea what they mean.

So, all I saw was several camels and something like a tree and I said, I think you'll be heading South/East. So 2 months later, out of the blue, she got a great job offer and went to work in an embassy in Syria.
I don't know what to think. I want to believe I can somehow develop this and use it to let my friends have fun and even help them somehow. I am afraid though I don't know what the symbols mean. Is there ANY sort of list of symbols and their meaning or is it something I have to build up on my own as I keep trying?
Thanks for your attention and time :)
Velina
Dear Valina,
How amazing, I think you are a natural, and I am so excited with your email- that more and more people are reviving the old art!! So do not doubt your gift, and keep trying.
Intuition develops the more we use it. Some are born with more awareness than others; so I feel this has allowed you to become even more intuitive. The two halves of the brain work together. Sometimes we see things in a logical, and then interpret them in an intuitive way; or the other way around.
The more you develop, the more that both halves of the brain work together in synergy. Developing intuition is also a good exercise for the brain to develop creatively and to see things from a different perspective. Write your notes your down, and this is how you compile your own dictionary.
I am very excited that more and more internet surfers are in getting in touch regarding coffee cup reading, from all over the world. My intention is to write a book about the subject, to put all the information in one place. I love coffee cup reading- it is an old eastern tradition that seems to unite people of various cultures.
Do read other notes on symbols in the following articles; they might help you with interpreting coffee symbols as I explain a little more in each:

Although Arabs and people of the Near East, Mediterranean and Asia are also serious tea drinkers; it was the grounds at the bottom of a coffee cup that held clues to their fortunes."
